Book of the Moment

I'm currently reading "Keys to Drawing" by Bert Dodson. This book is by far the best drawing book I've read so far.

Dobson gives you the keys to drawing to but discourages you from using the keys as a strict set of instructions. Rather, the keys are "to be absorbed into your own system of drawing." "Drawing is primarily a process of seeing rather than strictly an application of principles," Dobson says.

Each chapter of he book contains projects designed to give you experience with the keys presented in the book, such as proportions, light, depth, texture, pattern, design, and imagination. The examples in the book embrace a variety of drawing types such as gestures, thumbnail sketches, setchbook studies and full compositional drawings. At the end of each chapter is a review and self examination.

I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed!
